Who is behind this site?

I am Emánuel Dávid Tukacs, an independent insurance intermediary (broker). As a broker I do not represent one insurer: I act on the client's instructions. For your home I obtain competing offers from several insurers and hand them over in a single, plain-language table – with the sums, the terms, the strengths and the weaknesses. I assess the need and inform you about the options – the decision always rests with the client.

My activity is supervised by the MNB (the National Bank of Hungary): my registration number is 114063010758, which anyone can verify in the MNB institution register. I carry out the intermediation as a partner of Eurorisk Biztosítási Alkusz Kft. My main site: tukacs.com.

Why home insurance in particular?

Because for most families the home is the largest item of their wealth – and because home insurance is the contract most people sign once and then leave untouched for decades. Meanwhile building costs move on, life changes, and the cover quietly goes stale: the problem surfaces not at signing but at the first serious claim. My job is to prevent exactly that: cover at true rebuilding value, tuned to the typical damages – and reviewed again if you let me know before the renewal date. Three principles I hold to

• Obtaining competing offers, not pushing a product. Instead of insurer brands I compare substance: sums, covered events, limits, deductibles, exclusions, the small print. Offers from several insurers are placed side by side – the table speaks for itself. With the online calculator (in Hungarian) you can run the numbers in minutes – I pick up where the calculator ends.
• Honesty instead of alarm. With me there is no fear-mongering and no "covers everything" promise – there is a factual frame. I also write openly about when switching is not worth it, and about where cheap cover tends to backfire – that is part of fair information too.
• The long term. You can still ask questions after signing: if your circumstances change, I adjust the cover on request. The primary route for reporting a claim is always the insurer's claims line and online portal – but if a case stalls or turns into a dispute, I help the client as a broker, where I can.

What I am NOT – an important boundary

• I am not a loss adjuster. Assessing the damage and setting the claim amount is the job of the insurer's expert – my role is to have the policy set up well at signing, and to help the client if a case stalls or is disputed.
• I am not a lawyer and not a tax adviser. I set out the legal framework in plain language, but legal disputes and tax details are worth clarifying with a lawyer or an accountant.
• I am not a property valuer. For setting the rebuilding value I provide method and reference points – a square-metre-based estimate, a home inventory –, the final figure is your decision; for a special property a professional valuation may be warranted.

What does this cost you?

I charge the client no fee for the advice or for obtaining competing offers – the brokerage remuneration is paid by the insurer. This is how the market normally works, and I speak about it openly, because trust rests on it: you know exactly what your broker lives on, and you also know that the right to decide always stays with you.
