Most Hungarian homes already have a home insurance policy – the question is rarely whether one exists, far more often it's whether it's still a good one. That's what a policy review is for: we go through the existing policy and its terms on four points, systematically. And the outcome is an honest one: often keeping it is exactly the right decision – perhaps with one or two adjustments.
Not a sales conversation, but a status check. We lay your existing policy – the contract, the terms, the last indexation letter – alongside your situation today: what it protects, for what amounts, and what's changed since signing. As a broker I use the same comparison table as for a new policy (that's how we compare) – only now your live policy is the baseline for the comparison. It's most timely when the policy has sat untouched for years, when your life situation has changed – a move, a renovation, letting the place – or when signing it, at the time, was a quick forced fix rather than a considered choice. In these cases, an outside, structured look-over is reassuring in its own right.
Amounts: does the building amount reflect today's rebuilding cost, does the contents amount reflect today's inventory – this is where the risk of proportional settlement is decided. Scope of cover: does it still fit your life situation – has letting, solar panels, a garden or working from home entered the picture over the years. Limits and deductibles: do the valuables limits and the deductible match today's values. Premium: where does it stand against the market – the online calculator (in Hungarian) gives a quick picture of that on identical data. The order isn't accidental: content first, premium after – sit down to the table the other way round and it's easy to strike the wrong compromise.
Three outcomes are possible, and all three are fine. Keep it: if the content is good and the premium is fair – more common than you'd think. Adjust it: if the policy is a good foundation but time shows on the amounts or the optional covers – this is fixable without switching. Switch: if the content and the premium together justify it – the when to switch and when not article covers this with a level head. There's no pressure to switch on my side: I assess the need and inform you about the options – the decision always rests with the client. In practice, the most common finding isn't a bad policy anyway, but an outdated amount – and that's cured with an amendment.
Dig out the policy and the latest indexation letter – that's your part of it. In a 20-minute conversation we go through all four points, and by the end you have a clear picture: what's good, what needs adjusting, and whether it's even worth running competing offers. You get the outcome in writing too, so you can decide with an easy mind. Book a slot here – after that, your own annual routine keeps it all in shape in a quarter of an hour a year. These two habits – one thorough review and the annual quarter-hour – keep the policy matched to your life: ahead of a claim, not after one.
